Upper Back Muscle Strain
If you’re suffering from upper back strain, there are a few usual suspects… Lower Fibres of Trapezius, Erector Spinae, and the pesky Rhomboids to name but a few! These naughty muscles can cause a fair bit of bother when they want to as once pulled, they often spasm up and that’s what really causes the problem as it then has an effect on all of the other muscles, joints and ligaments in the area! There tend to be two different patient stories when it comes to muscular strains; some have done a sudden excessive movement and had a sudden onset of pain and others may have spent too long in a poor posture, causing the strain.
So, how do we speed up the recovery of a neck muscular strain? We beat it into submission of course! Well, to be more precise (and less scary sounding!) we massage into the trigger points (the really sore bits) for deep tissue release and sometimes even stick acupuncture needles into it. This isn’t as barbaric (or as painful) as it sounds and our genuinely caring therapists will only go as deep as you can tolerate. The huge benefits are worth it. Not only do our techniques release those pesky spasms, they also help increase the blood flow that is needed for swift healing.
