Your health, in expert hands
Nothing inspires our Award Winning Physiotherapy team more than helping people on their road to recovery
Meet our award winning physio team
Our ‘USP’ is that we don’t just treat your symptoms… we actually address the root cause of your problem!
Why our physio’s stand out
… we do this by effectively assessing your nerves, muscles and tendons, bones, ligaments, joints and cartilage, and also the way you move in a structured way. We then provide you with the expert ‘hands on’ treatment and rehabilitation you need to get better, quicker!
Why?? It’s simple… this approach doesn’t only prevent reoccurrence but also goes a step further to helping you continually improve and optimise the way you move.
… the great news? We often find our patients end up being stronger and fitter than they even were before their injury.
Get ready for a healthier, happier you!

What to expect at my physio session?
At the Back and Body Clinic, we understand that pain- whether it’s back pain, a sports injury, or even a repetitive strain injury – is a real issue for you!! At your first appointment, we will always take the time to do a thorough examination that helps us come to a clear diagnosis. Our therapists are great at explaining this and answering any questions you have. Once we (and you) understand what is going on and why… we can be much more efficient and targeted at treating you effectively.
We will then be super keen to start some ‘hands on’ treatment. We will be looking for what’s tight so we can loosen it, what’s stiff so we can mobilise or manipulate it and what’s in spasm so we can relax it off. Our therapists will also look to find what’s weak so they can work out the best way to strengthen it, so expect at some stage to come away with a great rehab program too that will phase up and get harder through your sessions.
Once your symptoms have started to improve, our physios will continually be looking for the underlying root cause of the issue… that is where the really important work starts!!! We believe that looking for faulty movement patterns and screening you for areas of weakness and compensation is absolutely critical! By doing this effectively, we can help you correct those issues that contributed to the injury in the first place… and hopefully stop it coming back again in the future.
Do I need hands on treatment?
Once we have assessed you and explained your diagnosis, we will be super keen to start some expert ‘hands on’ treatment. This is because ’hands on’ treatment is an excellent and really beneficial part to our treatment plans, which will be personalised to you and your body.
We will be looking for what’s tight so we can loosen it, what’s stiff so we can mobilise or manipulate it and what’s in spasm so we can relax it off. ‘Hands on ‘ treatment will help to reduce pain too!
How will I remember the rehab exercises?
Here at the Back and Body Clinic, we have cutting edge bespoke exercise software! This means that your exercises will be emailed to you with videos and instructions to make sure you know exactly what you have to do before your next session, and to help keep pain at bay.
Do I need to see a physio, osteo or chiro?
At the Back and Body Clinic, there is very little difference between how our physio’s and osteo’s assess and treat musculoskeletal pain. We all train together and use the most up to date evidence base to guide our assessment and treatment choices. We treat the same things and we use the best techniques that both physiotherapy and osteopathy have to offer. We believe that this is how things will be in the future; professions merging together as the evidence base guides us. So when choosing either a physiotherapist, osteopath or chiropractor, your decision should be based on which therapist is the most convenient for you to see rather than their profession as they will all have the tools required to get your body into the best version of itself!

As someone who works in the fitness industry, being able to train and teach are vital to me.
The professionalism and skill they have is the best around. The treatment I have had for my elbow and hip over several months has been fantastic. Mike the physio has worked the rehab around my work and training and given exercises that are simple, yet effective. No long lists of time-consuming exercises. Understanding that taking time off is not a possibility has been valuable.
The Back and Body clinic is full of lovely people who have passion for their client’s wellbeing. Couldn’t be more grateful as I am!

Physiotherapy news and blogs
I often get asked if it is safe to exercise during pregnancy. And the answer is… if you are healthy and your pregnancy is free of complications then definitely yes! If you suffer from cervical insufficiency, placenta previa (after 26 weeks of pregnancy), pre-eclampsia or severe anaemia you must not exercise. If you have a […]
There are many lifestyle changes you can make to help improve your symptoms whilst you are having treatment or waiting for your appointment. Increase your fluid intake to 1.5-2l a day and try to drink mainly water. Caffeine in tea and coffee, fizzy drinks, fruit juices and alcohol can all irritate your bladder, so try […]
