Women’s Health/Pelvic Health
Who is Women’s Health Physio for?
Calling all women, of all ages and stages – Please don’t be embarrassed to seek help for Women’s Health problems. You are not alone.
Shockingly 1 in 3 of us girls will experience women’s health problems during our lifetimes. Women’s health issues are not just for women who have had children, there are lots of issues that occur that have nothing to do with having children that we can help with.
For those that have had children up to half of all women experience weakness in both the abdominal muscles and pelvic floor muscles after pregnancy and up to a third still have a gap in their tummy muscles at 8 weeks post birth. This can cause instability or poor core strength leading to women developing pelvic or back pain or bladder, bowel and sexual dysfunction. These conditions do not have to be something you should just put up with as a result of having a baby.
Mums need to bend, squat and lift so we provide clinical post-natal care and functional exercises for female clients following birth (no matter how long ago).
