Achilles Tendonitis/Tendonosis

We see so many patients with Achilles tendinopathy, and its not just our running friends that can end up with it.  The Achilles is a thick tendon that joins the calf muscles to the heel bone. Usually they get grumpy if the calf muscle isn’t very strong meaning the tendon has to work super hard to propel you along. There are loads of other biomechanical reasons that it happens too. All of which will need to be thoroughly addressed to make sure the issue goes away- for good! Thankfully, this condition responds very well to treatment usually including Physio or Sports Therapy and at trip to our excellent Podiatrists for bespoke insoles or heel raises. Even in really stubborn cases we can normally get shot of it using Shockwave Therapy.
