Justin Chacksfield

Justin qualified from Loughborough University in 1994 with a BSc hons degree in Physical Education and Sports Science. He took a post-graduate advanced diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Tresham Institute from 2004-2006. Justin has been involved in a whole variety of sports all his life and has been a tennis coach for over 25 years. He worked as a counsellor for mental health charity Teamwork for 4 years, and has spent the last 7 years establishing his sports psychology business Focus Tennis. He is currently the mental skills coach for Culford School, setting up a syllabus for psycho-social skill development for their secondary school sports scholars.

Justin uses a person-centred approach within his wellbeing sessions. Person-centred counselling supports you to develop your self-awareness, self-confidence, confidence in decision making and taking responsibility for decisions you’ve made for your own health and wellbeing. It is personalised and adapted to your needs. The principles of the person-centred approach are focused on the counsellor being honest, non-judgmental and empathic in the relationship, allowing you to lead and set the pace.
