Q: Why did you join the Back and Body clinic?

A: When I first qualified in 2010 I was lucky to get a job opportunity in a large outpatient department. It was full of great, like-minded people and alongside having a great work ethic, the department had such a fun and friendly atmosphere. From first visiting the back and body clinic I got the same impression immediately. It is clear to see  how enthusiastic and focused everyone is in helping people and there is such a great team environment and dynamic- one which I very much look forward to being a part of.

Q: Clinical special interests?

A: I enjoy treating patients of all ages from school age up. My oldest patient to date was 103! However, i have a special interest in neck pain with referred arm symptoms, knees and ankles. I also particularly enjoy working with runners/triathletes from recreational/sprint distance up to Marathon runners and Iron Man competitors.

Q: Work experience to date?

A: Since qualifying I have spent the majority of my time working within the NHS, private practice and hospitals. But I have also been able to spend some time within football academies, a dance company in London and also helped with a pre-Paralympic games medical hub in 2012.

Q: Clinical Special interests?

A:  I am a member of the association of foot and ankle physiotherapists as I have a particular Interest in this. I would say my other interest is in the diagnosis and management of rheumatological conditions, which has increased whilst working within my other role, as a first contact physiotherapist in GP surger

Q: Top pastimes?

A:  I am a keen sportsman (or was). My football playing days are behind me now unfortunately- when you start getting more injuries than the people you are treating then you know it’s time to stop. I still enjoy watching football and “try” to play golf when I can. But I’m currently training for the London marathon this year so this is taking up quite a bit of my time currently.

Q: The most relaxing thing in the world is?

A:  For me it would be sitting on a beach on the north Devon coast with my wife, watching my sons enjoy playing in the sand, with their bucket and spade (with a pasty or ice cream in hand obviously).

Q: Favourite joke?

A: What do you call a 3 legged donkey? A wonkey.

Q: Who would you like to be stranded in a lift with?

A: A lift engineer- surely that’s a no brainer?
