A: I joined the Back and Body Clinic as a part-time receptionist in October 2019, having previously been a patient. From the moment I had my initial interview, to my first day in the job, I can honestly say that I have never worked in such a positive (and sometimes crazy) environment!
Most of my working life has been spent in customer service and it is great to see how important this is to the ethos of the clinic. My favourite part of the job is definitely speaking to all the lovely patients and seeing how their conditions improve after their sessions with the therapists.
Q: Top pastimes?
A: In my spare time I go to the gym and particularly love Zumba, as it gives me the chance to keep fit and dance at the same time- and all my friends know that I LOVE LOVE LOVE to dance!! At my “significant” birthday party, I even persuaded my husband and adult children to perform a surprise dance routine with me to “Uptown Funk”, which took a lot of persuading and rehearsing, to say the least….
Q: Funniest thing you have done?
A: Probably entering an “American Idol” talent show at Walt Disney World, Florida, where I was persuaded (ahem) to audition for the evening show. Suffice to say, the producer said “I had talent I didn’t know I had” but that “I wasn’t quite ready for the big time” Hilarious and quite a relief, as the other contestants were all brilliant and my family would have been hideously embarrassed…
Q: Scariest thing you have done?
A: Not sure about the scariest thing I’ve done, but I love watching horror films at home and used to scare myself further by waiting until the end of a film and then putting my empty milk bottles on the doorstep late at night, before running up to bed, with my heart racing. Strange, eh? Also, last year my husband and I went to South Africa on safari, where we went on a guided bush walk, with just the guide and a gun for company, having seen lions, elephants and rhinos only 5 minutes earlier. Now that was scary…
Q: The most relaxing thing in the world is...?
A: The most relaxing thing in the world is the knowledge that my family are all happy and well, whilst eating chocolate and lying in the sun. Perfect!
