Neck Trapped Nerve
Are you suffering from neck pain because of a trapped neck nerve? Ouch… yes, we totally get it is as painful as it sounds!
Those poor neck nerves can get really irritated, can’t they? And sometimes, they feel ‘pinched’ as that pain leaves the vertebra and goes off down your arm… pain that radiates, not just down the arms, but can result in pins and needles, numbness, shooting pains, and can cause muscle weakness.
They say nerve pain is the worst type of pain and we can see that pain in our patients’ faces in the waiting room. But, we’re here to turn that frown upside down! Once an assessment is made and treatment begins, we’re super proud to say that nearly all of our patients get better without the need for any surgical intervention; in fact, we can count on one hand the number of patients that have needed that!
With the right treatment we can settle the irritated nerves down quite nicely; this normally involves hands-on techniques to gently open up the joints and the holes the nerves live in. Releasing all the tight, spasmed muscles around the area, doing gentle, nerve gliding techniques to restore normal movement, gentle traction techniques (with our hands for extra care rather than equipment) and often, some tape. Then it’s about working out what caused it in the first place, and guess what… posture normally has a huge part to play!
