Neck Muscle Strain
When it comes to neck muscle strain, there are a few usual suspects, Upper Fibres of Trapezius, Levator Scapulea, and the pesky Scalenes to name a few…
If you’re suffering from neck muscle strain, you’ll know that these naughty muscles can cause a fair bit of bother when they want to. Once pulled, they often spasm, and that’s what really causes the problem as these spasms can have an effect on all of the other muscles, joints and ligaments in the area! There tend to be two different patient stories when it comes to muscular strains; some have caused it through a sudden excessive movement and had a sudden onset of pain, but others experience it as they may have spent too long in a poor posture, causing the strain.
So, how do we speed up the recovery of neck muscular strain? We beat it into submission of course! Well, we massage into the trigger points (the really sore bits), deep tissue release and sometimes even stick acupuncture needles into it. This isn’t as barbaric as it sounds and our genuinely caring therapists will only go as deep as you can tolerate. The huge benefits are worth it. Not only does this release the spasm, it also increases the blood flow that is needed for swift healing.
