Facet Joint Pain
Painful facet joints can really cause chaos. There are two joints either side of the spine at every vertebra, and their job is to allow and control movement. Patients that have facet joint pain will often say they have pain and stiffness on one side and that it’s made worse with bending backwards, twisting or leaning over. Sometimes, standing for long periods can aggravate these joints too, making them very grumpy – and painful! Especially if you naturally over-arch your back when standing (a common postural problem). Luckily, we know what to do with grumpy facet joints to cheer them up! They love to be in a nice neutral posture and be loosened up nicely. Our therapists are really good at this and you’ll soon be back to feeling like your best self!
