Hyaluronic Acid Injections
A Hyaluronic acid injection is used to treat particularly knee but also other joint pain caused by osteoarthritis. It works by acting like a lubricant and shock absorber in the joints and helps the joints to work properly. It is a substance that is naturally in your joints but has found to be reduced by approximately three times the levels it should be in osteoarthritic joints. There has been lots of high level research studies on it and it is often found to offer a longer lasting effect to a cortisone injection.
