Elbow Ligament Sprain
Luckily we don’t see too many elbow ligament sprains… they are fairly rare. You have to be pretty unlucky or have a particularly nasty fall to sprain the elbow ligaments because the structure of the joint means you would have to be in a particular position to sprain these ligaments – and normally, the shoulder or wrist take the brunt of the force! We treat these in much the same way as all sprains; there may need to be a period of splinting depending on the severity, and then it’s restoring normal movement and strengthening it up until it’s as good as new!
