Advice and Education

We will provide you with information about your injury, explaining the anatomy and why you have your symptoms. We find this can help you feel more at ease and decrease any anxiety.  Education is important to help you stand and sit with a good posture and how to modify your everyday activities to prevent aggravation of your symptoms. Advice may include:

  • Sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees
  • Keeping your legs together when rolling over in bed or getting in a car
  • Regularly changing your position so you are not sitting or standing for more than an hour without stretching or moving
  • Taking breaks throughout the day and resting in a comfortable position with the back supported
